Method of using cold plasma spray for activation of living growth processes of coniferous species seeds

041.jpgMethod is intended for increase of germinative power and growth acceleration in the early stage of development. Stage of development: preproduction model.

INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS

Use of low-temperature plasma flow on basis of water (cold water plasma spray, CPS) for preparation of coniferous species seeds before seeding-down for rapid germination of seeds and following growth of containerized seedlings in conditions of greenhouses. Water availability in CPS structure let exclude the stage of steeping, which is obligatory for coniferous species seeds, and bactericidal radiation availability let exclude the stage of processing with potassium permanganate.

ADVANTAGES

Productivity- high of seedlings, which seeds were treated with cold plasma spray, after the end of growth are 24% higher than seedlings of control; dry basis of treated plants is greater than of control plants by 13-15%.
Safety- morphological changes of stipitate or modification of needles were not revealed.

ECONOMIC OUTCOME

Getting of standard planting stock at minimal cost, reduction on annual preparation of young plants of agricultural and forest culture by 10-15% in the Republic of Karelia.

Working fluid - water; bulk temperature 40-60 °С; power density of plasma flow 2,5 Вт/кв.см; burner voltage of discharge 950-1100 В; discharge current 20-40 мА.
