Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and members of the official delegation visited the Institute of High Biomedical Technologies of Petrozavodsk State University, and learned about the work of PetrSU’s IT-park.

The delegation accompanying the President of Tatarstan included Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Zaripov, Health Minister Adel Vafin, Forestry Minister Almas Nazir Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Sergei Ivanov, deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, Chairman of the Board of the World Congress of Tatars Rinat Zakirov, Director of External Relations Department of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Eduard Habibullin, heads of enterprises and institutions.

The guests visited the laboratories and centers of the Institute of High Biomedical Technologies, familiarized themselves with their activities and developments by scientists of PetrSU.
The Director of the Institute Tatiana Volkova said that the Institute of Biomedical high Technologies interacts with various Russian and foreign organizations working on developments in the field of biomedicine.

Today, the Institute has an enormous potential for successful development. Biomedicine is one of the most important trends of the modern world of science with the objectives of targeted search and design of genetic and experimental biomodels related to human development, conservation and maintenance of quality of life, with the creation of innovative ways to diagnose diseases. Therefore, the unique combination of basic science and clinical practice will undoubtedly contribute to the scientific achievements of the university, will increase their demand and accelerate innovative modernization of the region.

The work of the Institute is aimed at structuring basic and applied research in the fields of medicine and biology in accordance with the priorities of the Russian Federation in the field of biomedical technologies and global trends in the field of science, as well as creating conditions for research concerning development of innovative technologies that are ready to be introduced into clinical practice.

The official delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan headed by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Innovation and Technology Park.

At IT-park, the guests visited the activities budget monitoring centre which provides IT-services to regional and federal bodies of executive power. The Center is engaged in researching and forecasting staffing of the region. A new development of CBM is the transparent information environment "My Career", which combines both qualitative and quantitative forecasting of popular positions.

"The subject is very relevant because the education system should be reconstructed under this system, and we need to know what kind of resource centers and professions are in demand," said Rustam Minnikhanov. The president immediately instructed the Ministry of Labor and Education of the Republic of Tatarstan to further explore the experience of the CBM of PetrSU and invited employees of CBM to give a presentation of their development in the Republic of Tatarstan.

In the Laboratory of mobile and wireless technologies, the delegation learned about technoligies for detecting miners in mines; in PetrSU-Metso Automation Systems Center - about the services; at the International Center “PONSSE” - about innovative developments in the field of forest technology, at the ITC of cage culture – about projects of aquaculture development, including the production of fishery boats, which are made of low pressure plastic that comes from the Republic of Tatarstan.

The guests also learned about the projects implemented jointly by the University and the enterprises of the republic. One of them is the development of a vehicle kit for storage and transportation of nuclear waste, the second - the development of valves for nuclear power industry.

The official delegation was also shown the Student business incubator, creative programming Club and the Club of Go.

"There are some very interesting developments, many of which have to be implemented at our facilities in our country: the forecasting system of staff training, security in positioning, production of polymers. I think 5 or 6 projects can actually be in demand in our republic. We will work together", said the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, summing up his visit to Petrozavodsk State University.
