A tour of the Innovation and Technology Park of the University was led by Rectorof PetrSU A.Voronin and Head of the innovation and production activities O. Derbeneva.

"Now, the IT-park consists of more than 30 innovative divisions and 24 small innovative enterprises, which employ more than 200 people, including undergraduate and graduate students. Products of the innovation and technology park is in great demand all over the world. Together with foreign partners, IT park annually sells more than 30 projects, many of which pose serious competition to Western standards, and play a significant role in the process of import substitution," said the Rector Anatoly Voronin.

In the IT-park, Alexei Volin also got acquainted with the activities of the Center for budget monitoring, which provides IT-services to regional and federal bodies of executive power. The Center is engaged in research and forecasting of staffing of the region. A new development of CBM, the transparent information environment "My Career", combines both qualitative and quantitative forecasting of popular jobs.

In the Laboratory of mobile and wireless technologies, the guest was told about the technology for detecting miners in mines, in the Center of PetrSU-Metso Automation Systems - about the services, at the International Center “PONSSE” - about innovative developments in the field of forestry equipment, about the activities of the Club of creative programming, about the victories our students have had at the world championships in programming.

Alexei Volin also learned about the projects implemented jointly by the University and enterprises of the republic: the development of the transport set for storage and transportation of nuclear waste and valves for nuclear power.
Also presented were developments by young scientists of the Faculty of Physical Engineering and the Nanocentre of PetrSU.

"I have seen that Petrozavodsk State University has some interesting innovative projects to offer, there are real customers for many inventions and, most importantly, it has a real connection with life. And the university creates every possible condition for young scientists," said Alexey Volin after visiting the IT-park of Petrozavodsk State University.
