Budget Monitoring Centre of Petrozavodsk State University at the Patent School 2015
The main objective of the school was providing information and the most intensive training in practical skills of filing a patent application in Russia and abroad, including the PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty, the international patent system).
The school involved quite a few reports by 20 speakers from 8 countries, including representatives of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), European Patent Organization (EPO) and Rospatent. The organizers taught how to independently carry out a patent search, talked about the new direction of research - the construction of patent landscapes and elaborated on how to complete the applications for Rospatent and the PCT. The first day of the Patent school addressed issues of national patents, the second day was devoted to questions about the system of international and regional patents, the third day included practical courses on patenting by foreign experts from Europe, China and the United States, as well as individual master classes by renowned experts in Intellectual Property.
"Participation in this school is very useful, as it allows one to look at your regular activities from a different angle. Also, the protection of intellectual property in the scientific community is always relevant. In addition, visitors were able to have a word with all the experts in an informal setting, which means new connections and opportunities for further development. The knowledge gained will be useful to me in my work and activities to help cover the new areas", said Alexander Kekkonen.
