The Ministry of Education and Science of Russia summed up the competitive selection of additional professional programs in the framework of the departmental target program "Advanced training of technical staff in 2015-2016".

The program is aimed at strengthening the contribution of professional education to the improvement of human capacities at the industries of strategic value for the economic development of Russia; it is designed to promote upgrading in productive sectors of economics, ensure productivity enhancement, and create and modernize high-performance jobs.

Petrozavodsk State University has won the competitive selection for the fifth time. This year four programs were supported: "Modern machine diagnostic and status control in nanotechnology industry" (2016), "Digital signal processing algorithms in MATLAB" (2016), "Modern technologies of construction and operation of highways" (2016), "Increasing energy and resource efficiency in production"(implemented since 2013). The participants of the programs will be engineering and technical personnel of the enterprises of real sector of economy of the Republic of Karelia, Kaliningrad region, the graduates of the Faculty of Physics and Technology of PetrSU.
