St. Petersburg hosted the awarding of the winners of the HI-TECH Innovation competition

Petrozavodsk State University is a regular participant of St. Petersburg Technical Fair. Innovative projects and developments of the university annually participate in the prestigious competition "The best innovative project and the best scientific and technical development of the year" and are highly appreciated by the expert committee.

In 2016, 150 projects were submitted to the competition. The winners were enterprises and higher educational institutions of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region, Moscow Region, Stavropol Territory, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area, Russian Far East, and Belarus.

The commission of experts noted a high level of projects and developments presented by Petrozavodsk State University for the competition. Of the 14 innovative projects and developments presented by PetrSU, 10 became the winners and were awarded gold and silver medals.

The Engineering Center of PetrSU’s innovative project of "The ARK-5 automatic feeder for dispensing extruded and pelleted fish feed" became the gold medal winner in the "Import substitution" category of the contest. In the category "Medicine, prevention and a healthy lifestyle," the gold medal marked the development of the Institute of High Biomedical Technologies of Petrozavodsk State University: "A new testing system of differential diagnosis of cervical dysplasias and cervical cancer" and "Antigravity rehabilitation of Parkinson patients by method of dry immersion."

Silver winners of the competition were the projects:

"Mixed-use complex for harvesting and reforestation";

"Automatic collision avoidance system for multicopters";

"Water filter based on nanoanodized metals";

"Superhard thin film coating materials based on VAM materials";

"A method of early diagnosis of portal hypertension in chronic diffuse liver diseases";

"Personalized multimineral biologically active food supplement to correct elemental imbalances";

"A new way of pain identification, differentiation of pain and evaluation of pain syndrome therapy effectiveness."
