The international project “BRIDGE”
PetrSU took part in the meeting to discuss the implementation of a new international project called "Initiative of Barents region universities regarding the development of international relations in the region and employment opportunities."
On 5-7 April, Murmansk hosted a meeting of representatives of universities of Norway, Russia and Finland. The event involved the Arctic Norwegian University of Applied Sciences, the University of Lapland (Finland), Petrozavodsk State University, Murmansk Arctic State University and the Institute of International Business and Law (Saint-Petersburg).
During the meeting, representatives of the universities discussed preparations for the implementation of a new international project BRIDGE (Barents Region Initiative for Developing Growth and Employability).
Petrozavodsk State University was represented by Senior Lecturer of the Department of Economics and Management E. Gladkikh and the Director of the SBI of PetrSU A. Konovalov.
The main objective of the planned activities is to strengthen the universities’ cooperation with businesses and industries, development of a network of international professional contacts, increasing the competitiveness of graduates in the labor market. The focus of the project is the practice-oriented work of inter-university student groups on the development of specific commercial organizations working in the areas of activities of the project universities.
The meeting was also attended by business representatives who acknowledged the importance of this project and outlined the main tasks that they may offer to student groups to work on.
The project is scheduled for the beginning of 2017.
