Application for grants allocated in the framework of state support of small and medium enterprises was prepared by the Ministry for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports of Karelia jointly with Petrozavodsk State University.

Following the results of the contest the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia will provide the Republic of Karelia with 5 million rubles for creation of the Center of Youth Innovative Creativity.

The Center of Youth Innovative Creativity (CYIC) will have modern equipment and specialized software for digital modeling, fast prototyping and producing unique samples of various products and devices.

The CYIC‘s work will be focused on working with school children and students. There they will learn about the capabilities of modern equipment and get involved in research activities. The Center will have the facilities for teaching 3D modeling, 3D printing and digital production, which allow creating prototypes of innovative products and commercial samples. So the students of the Center will be able not just design new devices, but also take the next step and produce their prototypes under the guidance of accomplished engineers and designers. The Center will also have designers, inventors and qualified educators who work with the youth.
