Participants of the summer school “Gafostrov -Poduzhemye” got a great opportunity to learn the history, mode of life and customs of the Northern Karelians, to study the options and perspectives of the development of the tourist potential of our Republic.

While visiting the Gafostrov village of Muyezersky district, students of different faculties and institutes of the university took part in the celebration of the Day of the village and proved themselves in the game “Historical travelling  Haukkasaari». During an intellectual and sports competition students of the Institute of History, Political and Social Sciences A. Kuroptev and V. Stukalov demonstrated a high level of knowledge of the history and culture of the Karelian land.

«Thanks to the activity and sociability of these students the interactive game has become even more interesting and brighter. The organizers and participants of the interactive game express sincere appreciation and gratitude to the teaching staff of the Institute of History, Political and Social Sciences for the quality training of the students,” says the acting head of the administration of Muyezersky municipal district A.V. Pashuk in his letter addressed to the Institute of History, Political and Social Sciences of PetrSU.

Next year the participants and organizes of the school ( PetrSU Student business incubator) are planning to start the creation of the open air museum, devoted to the culture and history of the White sea Karelia and Karelian  seaboard, in the territory of the village.

The summer school “Gafostrov -Poduzhemye” was implemented within the framework of the Program for development of student unions’ activities of PetrSU.
