On May 22, according to the plan of development of Innovation and Technology campus of PSU in Drevlyanka construction of educational and scientific ground "Forest Road" started.

This facility is being built as part of the international research project "New cross-border solutions regarding intensification of forest management and enhancing the use of fuelwood in the Energy industry", performed by scientists from the Faculty of Forestry in collaboration with specialists from Finnish

Forest Research Institute “METLA”, University of Applied Sciences of North Karelia, the Forest Center of Finland and the Finnish forest College Valtimo on the Programme of cross-border cooperation in the framework of the European tool for Neighbourhood and Partnership "Karelia” (Karelia ENPI CBC).

"Forest Road" is created as a base for training and working practices, as well as research during the educational and scientific activities of the Institute of Forest, engineering and building sciences PetrSU to be formed on the basis of two faculties.

It should be noted that the technological platform being constructed will play an important role in the preparation of applied bachelors in the forest and road fields as a unique learning laboratory in the open air.

The construction of "Forest Road" facility is accompanied by a series of academic seminars and demonstrations of modern technological solutions in the field of road construction.
