Innovation of PetrSU Employee Received International Recognition
An employee of the Regional Center of New Information Technologies of PetrSU, the Associate Professor of the Department of Probability Theory and Data Analysis of the Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies of PetrSU Anatoly Zabrovsky presented his development at the international conference in Taiwan (Taipei).
Last year Anatoly Zabrovsky won a grant of Austrian government for conducting joint research with Austrian university. The research “Developing tools and methodology for testing and analyzing the DASH-based content delivery in the context of modern network approaches” is related to the development of methodology and test system for transmission of multimedia streams.
Under the project, the researchers have prepared several scientific articles. On June 21, Anatoly presented the results of the research and the developed system at the conference ACM Multimedia Systems 2017 that took place in Taiwan. The work is titled “AdViSE: Adaptive Video Streaming Evaluation Framework for the Automated Testing of Media Players”.
The system is already used for receiving data at an Austrian start-up company, the management team of which actively participated in requirements elicitation for the future system. The innovation is to be further developed and used in testing current technologies and streaming protocols.
The employees of the RCNIT of PetrSU Evgeny Petrov and Evgeny Kuzmin also took part in the project and together with Anatoly Zabrovsky and Austrian colleagues designed the system architecture and developed modules.
