The Boiling Point – Petrozavodsk coworking center is a platform for assimilation of the best practices, experience exchange, introduction of strategic initiatives for the benefit of Petrozavodsk and the Republic of Karelia. The opening ceremony took place at the Innovation and Technology Park of Petrozavodsk State University.

Previously regional Boiling Points were opened in Saint Petersburg and Ivanovo.

The opening of the coworking center was attended by the acting Head of the Republic of Karelia Artur Parfenchikov, the General Director of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives Svetlana Chupsheva, and the Rector of Petrozavodsk State University Anatoly Voronin.

Artur Parfenchikov noted: “Today is a big day for our Republic. This forum launches the creative platform the Boiling Pont at Petrozavodsk State University, the Flagship University of the Republic of Karelia. Here we will develop the Strategic Development Program of the Republic of Karelia, and address other challenges of the region. The Boiling Point unites creative and forward-thinking people. It is this approach that contributes to the creation of a truly efficient Strategic Development Program of the Republic of Karelia. It is essential to us that all the talents have rallied to reach this goal”.

Svetlana Chupsheva pointed out that the Boiling Point at Petrozavodsk University is a platform for joint work of proactive citizens who take interest in the development of their region, representatives of regional and municipal authorities, experts. “By all measures, this platform is ours and it complies with our spirit and ideas. As of now, we have created a “nuclear” group that is ready to develop this Point. The support of the Rector and the Governor is the key to its success. The citizens, entrepreneurs can use this platform for the search of new ideas and implementation of their projects and initiatives. I am convinced that the center will be much-in-demand, and indeed boil! There plenty of joint projects and initiatives to be realized. I think that the university is suited to put this into action. The IT-Park is a place that supports startups in the breakthrough fields and contributes to developing new technologies”, noted Svetlana Chupsheva.

Anatoly Voronin noted that PetrSU is one of the principal drivers of the development of the Republic of Karelia: “Here we concentrate the key force – the youth, scientists, employees who are actively involved in project activities, cooperate with public organizations and enterprises. The Boiling Point is a center of intellectual thought. Here we have created the environment for a person to come up with and implement ideas around the clock. The Boiling Point is a platform for life, for self-fulfillment”, said the Rector of the Flagship University.

The Boiling Point – Petrozavodsk will become a meeting place for representatives of business, government officials, engineers, scientists, teachers, students, and postgraduates. They will have an opportunity to participate in various events (trainings, roundtable discussions, workshops, open lectures etc.) and organize their own events aimed at developing Petrozavodsk and Karelia and improving the well-being of the citizens and residents of the Republic.

The Boiling Point – Petrozavodsk is a center that gathers together the leaders of the projects in the fields of innovations, business, industry and social entrepreneurship to develop and hone their skills.

The opening of the coworking center the Boiling Point – Petrozavodsk took place in the framework of the Business Forum Karelia: Growing Points.

At the event, the participants considered the best practices for integrating strategic initiatives for the benefit of the city and the region. The opening of the Boiling Place was carried out with the support of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives.
