PetrSU Students and Teachers at International Seminars on Fish Farming
Petrozavodsk hosted annual seminars for representatives of fish farming industry. The aim of the events is to introduce modern trends and new technologies in production and using fish feed of Raisoaqva Company (Finland).
At the invitation of the Association of Fish Farmers of Karelia the seminars featured the 3rd and the 4th year students and Master Degree students who study on the program “Water Bioresources and Aquaculture”, teachers of the Department of Zootechnics, Fish farming, Agronomy and Land Utilization of Petrozavodsk State University (Anatoly Bolgov, Anna Volkova, Marina Huobonen, Irina Skripnikova, and Olga Matrosova), as well as recent graduates of the Department.
The seminar convened representatives of large fish farming industries.
Specialists of the Raisioaqva Company Tomi Kantola, Ulle Lerhe, Susanna Airaksinen presented reports on production, quality, and a decrease of the load of the fish feed, as well as the results of studying their efficiency.
The participants also learned about prospective development projects and automated feeding, using new technologies in the provision of quality of fish feed (Ronni Jaakkola, Petri Elonen).
The students and teachers had an opportunity to talk to the representatives and directors of the largest fish farms of Karelia and the specialists of the Raisioaqva Company.
