"Our last year was fairly tense. We had a whole lot of different activities and events. One of the most important was the process of state accreditation of the University and merging the Karelian Pedagogical Academy with Petrozavodsk State University. The accreditation, was successful in all fields and specializations. We got the certificate of state accreditation for the next 6 years, which allows the university to continue to work steadily. The state Commission once again confirmed the high level of training in PetrSU and a number of other aspects. The university looks very decent. With regard to the merging of the two teams - PetrSU and KSPA – everything went rather smoothly. We now share the same team of teachers, staff and students, " said the Rector.

Mr.Voronin described the structure, activities, the projects successfully implemented in PetrSU, the competition winners, exciting student life, short-term plans of the University and the upcoming celebration of the 75th anniversary of the University, which PetrSU will mark next year.

"The University is always open to dialogue", said the rector of PetrSU A. Voronin. 

The members of the media were given a tour of the IT-park of PetrSU, during which they were introduced to the innovative developments of the university scientists. The head of innovation and production of PetrSU Olga Derbeneva told reporters about the strategy of innovative development of the university, the main directions of innovative development, construction, innovation and technological campus of PetrSU. Journalists visited the building of the Institute of High Biomedical Technologies, whose opening is scheduled for November of this year.
